Geoffrey Enthoven, Belgium, 2011

On a quest to lose their virginity, three young men with disabilities embark on a wild road trip. Their 
families think they are on a wine tour in Spain, but this is a cover for their true destination-a Spanish 
brothel that caters to people with disabilities.

Coming of Age, Independence & Disability
Lecture and Discussion by L. Scott Lissner @ 7:00pm

Like religion and race, disability moves between being a defining characteristic or coincidental attribute, depending on the perceptions of others and context, as much as the impact of the impairment. Lissner will discuss how these two films depict evolving perspectives on disability and their influence identity and sense of self.

Marcos Carnevale, Argentina, 2009
Anita, a young woman with Down syndrome, gets separated from her mother after a bomb explodes at their Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires. As she wanders the city searching for her mom-alone for the first time ever-she discovers an inner strength few could have expected.

ReelAbilities is a groundbreaking film festival that will unite dozens of partners and multiple screening locations throughout central Ohio. ReelAbilities Film Festival is the largest festival in the country dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different disabilities, all through the easily accessible art form of film. Initiated in New York in 2007, the festival presents award-winning films by and about people with disabilities in multiple locations throughout each hosting city. Post-screening discussions and other engaging programs bring together the community to explore, discuss, embrace, and celebrate the diversity of our shared human experience.
